Our well-known KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension kit with three-way adjustable shocks have been now technically revised for all new BMW M3 sedans (G80), BMW M4 Coupé (G82), BMW M4 Competition and BMW M4 CSL. New features are the wheel-guiding MacPherson struts which are manufactured in an inverted monotube (Upside-Down) with a 40 millimeter plain-bearing KW damper cartridge.
However, even more motorsport components are used in the new KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension. For example, the front-axle struts have external reservoirs with high-speed and low-speed compression valves, while these valves are integrated directly into the rear-axle dampers. The rebound forces are adjusted via the piston rod. In the scope of delivery are also unibal top mounts for the front and rear axles.
One new feature is that for vehicles with high lateral guidance forces, the wheel-guiding MacPherson front axle struts on KW V4 Clubsport coilovers are now manufactured in an upside-down design with a 40-mm plain bearing damper cartridge. The reason is that when driving on racetracks, the rapid succession of chicanes, the tight curve radii, and higher speeds result in extreme lateral guidance forces on the BMW M4 front axle.
The KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension kit for all BMW M3, BMW M4, BMW M4 Competition and BMW M4 CSL with rear wheel drive is road legal and features TUV papers (technical parts certificate). In the range of 20 - 35 millimeters a stepless lowering at the front axle and from 15 - 30 millimeters at the rear axle is possible.
At the front axle struts, the damper forces are generated at the piston and the low-speed and high-speed compression valves in the external reservoir. A fine-tuning for the respective track profile is available with 16 clicks for the rebound forces, 13 clicks in high-speed compression forces, and 14 clicks in low-speed compression forces. On the rear axle, there is no external reservoir. Separately adjustable low-speed and high-speed compression valves are integrated directly into the damper. The adjustment of the individual damper setup happens directly on the purple and golden adjusters on the rear dampers. With 14 clicks the high-speed compression can be adapted, with 13 clicks the low-speed compression is adjusted. The rebound damping is adjusted on the integrated click wheel on the piston rod.
Even during aggressive steering maneuvers, the BMW M3 / M4 body is perfectly supported and cut curbs are damped by the Clubsport chassis. The handling benefits even further from the unibal top mounts. In addition, the wheel camber can also be adjusted on the front axle via the Clubsport support bearings. The KW V4 Clubsport coilover suspension is our recommendation for all M enthusiasts who regularly participate in track days with their production BMW M3 or BMW M4.
