KW V5 with hydraulic lift system on the front axle (HLS 2 Evolution): Equip the Dodge Viper SRT with KW coilover suspension and revised HLS now!

There has rarely been a sportscar that has flown under radar as much as the Dodge Viper SRT 10 and its successor, the Dodge Viper SRT. In 2017, even the production was discontinued due to insufficient demand. Quite a pity since the Viper lives up to its name: This vehicle presents itself as a true serpent – in a positive sense. At its peak, the 10-cylinder suction engine with a total displacement of 8.4 liters was considered the most powerful version in the world. The handling is direct, sharp, and pleasantly balanced.

The latest generation of the Dodge Viper – the Viper SRT – was built from 2012 to 2017. It represents the fifth generation of the sports car series. Back then, Ferrari and Maserati were involved in the development of the car in Michigan, USA. SRT stands for ‘Street and Racing Technology’ under which the Viper was launched for a short amount of time. The model delivers 649 HP and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Its top speed is around 330 km/h.

The Dodge Viper SRT with KW V5 coilover suspension is guaranteed not to be forgotten

To pay tribute to this wonderful and high-performing model, we have developed a KW V5 coilover kit with included Hydraulic Lift System for the front axle (HLS 2 Evolution). With our coilovers, we take the Viper SRT’s handling to the next level. The result is precise steering, clean cornering behavior, and optimized ride comfort. Our KW V5 makes the Dodge Viper even more sporty to drive.

Our KW V5 coilover kit comes with numerous features. These allow various adjustments in the damping setup and lowering – even after installation. While we deliver our coilovers with damping already ideally tuned to the respective vehicle model, the driver can still make their own damping adjustments later.

For the KW V5 we use our KW Solid Piston Technology, also called Displacement Piston Design. In this configuration, the valves are situated separately from the damper inner tube and piston rod. This results in a more sensitive and precise damping. The threaded suspension system operated cavitation-free. Additionally, we can nearly completely eliminate hysteresis.

The following features are available:

  • Lowspeed and highspeed compression (KW Solid Piston Compression Low- and Highspeed Adjustable, SPCLH-A), adjustments within 13 clicks
  • Lowspeed and highspeed rebound (KW Solid Piston Rebound Low- and Highspeed Adjustable, SPRLH-A), adjustments within 13 clicks

For the sportier look, the KW V5 allows for lowering the Dodge Viper SRT by 20 to 40 millimeters on both the front and rear axles. But there's no need to worry about steep driveways or road bumps. In this application, the KW V5 comes with the Hydraulic Lift Option (HLS 2 Evolution) as a complete suspension. With the HLS 2 Evolution, the vehicle can be raised by up to 45 millimeters at the push of a button within 4-5 seconds, even while driving at speeds of up to 80 km/h. This prevents annoying damage to the front bumper without sacrificing an appealing lowered stance.

KW Hydraulic Lift System: The HLS 2 has been completely revised

The HLS 2 Evolution is the latest revision of our hydraulic lift options. We redesigned the HLS pump, which now operates quietly and efficiently while saving almost four kilograms in weight. Thanks to the optimized size, we can now install the HLS system in the engine compartment and no longer need to extensively mount the pump to the trunk. The magnetic valve has also been improved to be less vulnerable to contamination.

In conclusion, the Dodge Viper SRT is an underrated American sports car, which has since been succeeded by models like the Dodge Challenger or Dodge Charger with significantly more powerful engines. Nevertheless, the Viper remains exciting and legendary - especially with the KW V5 with HLS 2 Evo under its hood.
