KW DDC coilover kits

The KW DDC coilovers are part of the KW iSuspension program - the intelligent suspension solution. They combine the advantages of an adaptive damping system with a vehicle-specific aftermarket suspension solution. There are two versions offered: the KW DDC ECU with the option of using KW's App control, and the KW DDC Plug & Play for selected vehicle models with factory adaptive suspension.

Today, more and more premium vehicles are being fitted with an adaptive suspension system. Until the KW DDC Plug & Play was introduced to the market, you often had to make compromises when customizing your suspension lowering, and often had to dispense with the active control system and comfort features that you had paid extra for. With the adaptive KW DDC Plug & Play coilover suspensions there are no compromises to be made and you can combine the control of your standard damper system with a step less suspension lowering and the driving dynamics of a KW coilover suspension.

Setup – factory-set pre-configured damping setup with adaptive damper control

During installation, the standard struts are simply replaced by KW “inox-line” stainless steel struts while the adaptive KW dampers are connected to the on-board electronics using your automobile’s original plugs. Fitting a KW DDC Plug & Play coilover suspension requires no further steps. The standard dampers can simply be replaced with the KW DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) coilover kit. The existing control and the button installed in the interior for the operation of the damper control will retain.

Dämpfersteuerung

For the first time, the KW DDC coilover kit combines the advantages of a KW coilover suspension with the comfort of the standard damper control. At the push of a button, the driver can choose between the Comfort, Normal and Sport-setup optimized for the KW coilover suspension. In addition, the KW coilover suspension allows individual lowering in the tested adjustment range. Our original equipment quality suspension technology is compatible with various vehicle manufacturers. As a result, the adaptive KW DDC suspension is instantly recognized by the on-board electronics. So all the displays and controls of your series vehicle remain fully functional and you get a completely new driving experience.

DDC ECU Satzbild

Experience the innovation and quality of high-end “made in Germany” engineering: the KW DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) coilover suspension with ECU (Electronic Control Unit). The coilover suspension with its electronically adjustable dampers combines, for the first time, intelligent, app-controlled suspension tuning with customized suspension lowering. This gives you the opportunity to upgrade your vehicle with an adaptive damper control and, if desired, tune it to your requirements and way of driving. Included in the package are a KW “inox-line” coilover suspension with high-quality stainless steel struts, electronically adjustable dampers, a high-performance control unit with a vehicle-specific set of cables and a KW DDC button for control from the cockpit, as well as elaborate assembly instructions for an easy installation.

Setup – factory-set pre-configured damping setup with adaptive damper control and optional App-control via smartphone

The KW DDC ECU coilover suspension features three vehicle-specific damper setups. At the touch of a button you can choose between the basic Sport setting, a very sporty and performance-oriented Sport+ setup as well as the Comfort mode for driving on poor surfaces.

More driving dynamics at the push of a button

1 BUTTON, 3x MORE EXPERIENCE

The included KW DDC button allows to switch between the three damper sets "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport +". Here, the KW DDC button changes the color.

KW DDC Taster

Via the KW DDC button, the respective driving mode “Comfort”, “Sport” or “Sport+” can be selected, and the adaptive KW DDC ECU coilover kit changes the damper setting within milliseconds. In Sport+ mode, the adaptive KW dampers give every car an unadulterated driving behavior. A setup which is ideal for demanding rides on twisty roads with lots of load changes. The Sport mode however, is perfect for driving on the highway with long curves; while the Comfort mode is the ideal for traveling on poorly developed country roads. In Comfort mode, the suspension adjusts automatically to the respective driving situation.

KW DDC App: The App for adaptive driving pleasure

KW DDC iPhone App

If our adaptive complete retrofit solution is extended with a WLAN module, the suspension future is already today! With the App, the adaptive dampers of the KW DDC ECU coilover suspension can be adjusted continuously per axle to the personal driving style and load conditions. The App is compatible with smartphones and input devices from Apple (iOS) and many other devices with Android operating system and can be set intuitively from the maximum comfort ID with a very soft damping (displayed in the App with 0%) up to the Sport+ damper setup (displayed in the App with 100%). Here, the KW DDC button changes the color matching the KW DDC App.

Menu Basic

Choice between the KW damping modes “Comfort”, “Sport” and “Sport+” - the two “Sport-modes” can also be assigned with individual settings via the ADVANCED menu.

Menu Advanced

Display of the selected damper force in real time. The continuously damper setting is carried out separately on the front and rear axle. As soon as the individual setup is configured within the vehicle-specific security specifications, it is forwarded to the dampers via the Transmit button and saved. By activating the feature “permanent Update”, the changes are transmitted to the dampers in real time.

Menu Personal

Up to five individual damper setups can be stored in the App, saved, renamed and retrieved at any time as well as on request being shared by E-mail.

Menu Settings

Choice of different backgrounds as well as activation and deactivation of the start logo.

Continuous lowering

The KW DDC plug&play allows maximum or individual lowering within the tested adjustment range. Due to the dirt-resistant trapezoidal thread and the polyamide threaded ring, the continuous lowering can be varied quickly and easily, even after years.

Tesla

The benchmark for coilovers

As with all KW coilovers, the engineers at KW develop in extensive test cycles on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in our test center on the KW 7-post rig the vehicle-specific KW damper setup estimated by car enthusiasts worldwide. So you will experience your car even more directly and dynamically with a KW coilover kit.

After all, you do not buy just any coilover kit, but a KW coilover kit that has been especially developed and adapted for your vehicle type. KW as manufacturer exclusively uses own resources, high-quality components and the same damper technology as high-volume manufacturers. With the KW coilover suspension, the roll and pitch movements of the vehicle body are reduced during compression, so you benefit from an unadulterated directness and sportier handling while driving.

Our experiences for your driving pleasure

For more than 20 years, we as manufacturer have been the market leader and innovator of individual suspension solutions for the street and racing applications. No matter where in the world, sporty drivers, automobile manufacturers and refiners rely on our KW coilovers “Made in Germany”.

Every KW coilover kit undergoes extensive stress tests during production and is developed and manufactured directly in our company headquarters in Fichtenberg in order to meet the high standards of our KW quality management. So for us as a German manufacturer, it is important that we guarantee a several-year warranty on our KW coilover kits, which exceed the original equipment manufacturer quality, as well as suspension solutions which include more than 4,600 applications.
